Douglas Lemott Jr. is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Analysis and Resilience Center for Systemic Risk (ARC), where he leads the charge in developing secure, compliant technology solutions that protect systems vital to national and economic security.
Doug’s journey began in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served for 27 years, culminating in his leadership of the Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group. His experience in defending large-scale networks under pressure gave him the strategic edge needed to transition into high-impact cybersecurity roles in the civilian sector, including positions at VMware and SAP National Security Services (SAP NS2).
With two master’s degrees—including one in National Security Strategy from the National War College—and a lifelong commitment to learning, Doug is known for his intellectual rigor, calm under pressure, and servant-leader approach. He’s a proponent of the Eisenhower Matrix for time management, a conflict-resolution expert, and a passionate mentor who believes in helping others exceed their perceived limitations.
This blog reflects his ethos: blending discipline with empathy, strategy with adaptability, and always leading with integrity.
